BASF SONATRACH invests nearly 10 million euros in its PDH plant in Tarragona
The propylene producer BASF SONATRACH PropanChem, located in the Tarragona Chemmed Cluster, will carry out a project to eliminate bottlenecks in the production process, which will increase the plant's annual capacity from 370,000 to 420,000 tons.

The project will focus on increasing the capacity of various equipment in the plant that currently limits production capacity and will be implemented at the next maintenance stop, scheduled for 2021.
"This project will maintain the competitiveness of the propylene plant and that of our customers, as well as the global leadership of plant efficiency with the same production process", explains J.A. Díaz, responsible for the project and the Technology of the Propylene plant.
This investment has come at an optimal time of the company as it joins the good economic results of recent years and the milestone of having reached 5 million tons in November 2018, year in which, with 379,000t was achieved also, beat the absolute record of production of the plant.
