About
Bio-Oils is wholly owned by the “La Rábida” Biodiesel Plant, located in Palos de la Frontera (Huelva).
Bio-Oils began it's operations in 2008 and is benefitting from a strategic location, with pipeline connections to vessel-, train- and tanker loading docks.
Biodiesel is obtained by subjecting a series of oils to a chemical process called “transesterification”, which entails the addition of methanol in low-temperature reactors. The resulting product is then purified until the required level of quality is reached, making it apt for use in diesel engines.
Bio-Oils has experience in the production of high-quality biofuels from a broad variety of oils. The plant currently uses all available first-use oils, and has been adapted to process other residual raw materials. In the future it is scheduled to start using oils extracted from marine algae.
