Rockwood Lithium GmbH Is Relocating to Höchst Industrial Park
Optimum Framework Conditions for Successful Business Development
Rockwood Lithium GmbH is relocating from its Frankfurt site to Höchst Industrial Park. The global leader manufacturer of lithium compounds will take over the office and laboratory areas in the southeast of the Industrial Park, starting in late October, where the Management, R&D and Global Marketing as well as European Sales will be located. In relocating to Höchst Industrial Park, Rockwood Lithium is creating a good prerequisite for further business development.
Meteoric Increase in Demand
Rockwood Lithium employs a staff of 1,200 globally and attained annual revenue of ca. 335 million Euros in 2012. The global leader in the lithium compound sector is also a significant provider of cesium compounds as well as other metal product specialties on the basis of zirconium, barium or titanium. With this product range the company, which is a member of US Rockwood-Holdings, which focuses on inorganic specialties, is in an optimum position for successful development given a steadily increasing demand. This is true especially with regard to the anticipated accelerated increase in demand for lithium-ion batteries from the automotive industry.
Cutting Edge Office and Lab Space
For this, Rockwood Lithium needs optimum framework conditions, which hitherto had been lacking at the former Frankfurt site due to the lack of expansion possibilities. At the Höchst Industrial Park the company, with its staff of 120, will be occupying cutting-edge office and lab space in a research building built only a few years ago, which can be further developed according to the user’s needs on the basis of an innovative design. The site operation company Infraserv Höchst provided some 7,000 square meters of office and lab space for Rockwood Lithium and realized diverse special installations necessary for the company’s top-level research activity.
“Optimum Prerequisites for further Growth”
“With the site relocated to Höchst Industrial Park we are creating the best prerequisites for further growth and a successful future for the company,” states Dr. Steffen Haber, Chairman of the Board of Rockwood Lithium. “Moreover, at Höchst Industrial Park we find an infrastructure for our top-level R&D activities that meets our needs. This allows us to focus entirely on our core businesses, as many requisite services are rendered.” He states that the convenient location with regard to transport and proximity to the Frankfurt Airport are further arguments in favor of the chosen site, arguments that are highly relevant to a globally operating company. The network at the site, consisting of over 90 companies in the chemical and pharmaceutical sectors, related processing industries as well as numerous special service provider,s is highly attractive tor Rockwood Lithium.
“A Unique Total Package for Research and Production Companies”
Dr. Roland Mohr, CEO of the Industrial Park management company Infraserv Höchst, is pleased with the new site member. “ The choice of site by a global leader positioned in a very innovative and promising market segment proves once and again the attractiveness of Höchst Industrial Park as an R&D production site,” states Dr. Mohr. Due to the combination of industry-specific services, a technical top-level infrastructure which responds to the requirements as well as logistical advantages and proximity to potential clients and customers, which are of interest to many companies, we are able to offer research and production companies a unique total package.”
