Hi-Bis is a joint venture between the companies Honshu Chemical Industry, Mitsui & Co. and Bayer material science (currently Covestro) . Hi-Bis built a production plant for specialty bisphenol in Bitterfeld.
Bisohenol is used by Covestro for the production of the highly heat-resistant plastic Apec® HT, which is required for highly durable and visually demanding parts in the automotive lighting, lighting and electrical industries.
Joint Venture: Honshu Chemical Industry (55%), Mitsui & Co (35%) and Bayer Polymers (10%)
