WeylChem group Investment in multi-purpose plant for Allessa
Today, Dr. Uwe Brunk, President of WeylChem Group of Companies (WCGC), announced that WCGC will further optimize and expand its product and technology portfolio. As a result of this strategic measure, WCGC has decided to invest in upgrading one multi-purpose plant at the Group’s Allessa site in Frankfurt Fechenheim. This investment in the range of high single-digit million Euros, will keep the halogen exchange (HALEX) technology in Weylchem’s portfolio.
This decision is a logical step in advancing the strategic repositioning of the Group. After successful restructure of the marketing and sales organization under the WeylChem International umbrella, it is now the optimum time to continue optimizing the product and technology portfolio. The decision is based on the request and support of a large number of customers to have the technology of halogen exchange available inside of Europe. The new plant will be operational in the second half of 2021.WCGC’s investment in the Allessa plant in Fechenheim will grant WeylChem an access to an optimum added technology offering. It aims to transform an existing production asset into a state-of-the-art multi-purpose production unit with added capacity and advanced flexibility. Time to market and total expenditure can be minimized by making use of the existing equipment from former WeylChem Griesheim. Based on more than ten years of production experience with HALEX and use of the latest modern technologies we will achieve very competitive production costs, even at international standard.
“Our objective is to demonstrate our commitment to our customers and Custom Manufacturing by further developing our capabilities in this field, aligning our services with the needs of our customers even better. Investing in our assets at Allessa Produktion GmbH is one of the major steps into this direction”, Dr. Uwe Brunk explains.
Furthermore, an additional milestone and major investment in customer service and management has started already in January. A multi-disciplinary project team has commenced the work on implementing the new SAP S/4 Hana, a high-performing integrated system, across the Group Companies. The management team considers this to be a major step transforming the WCGC on an advanced level in terms of customer care as well as enabling WCGC to further strengthen the Companies to be modern and trustworthy partners for their customers.
