Valtris Specialty Chemicals expands the production capacity of benzyl derivatives in Tessenderlo, BE and Maastricht, NL
Independence, OH–Valtris Specialty Chemicals is investing significantly to add additional production capacity at both of its Advanced Organics sites in Europe,at Tessenderlo, Belgium and Maastricht, Netherlands.
“Following the acquisition of INEOS Chloro Toluenes in August last year,we have created a global business unit that builds on our existing benzylchloride production at Bridgeport, NJ. In order to meet growing market demand for chlorotoluene derivatives, we are pleased to show further commitment to this industry and our customers by investing for long term growth,”says Paul Angus, CEO Valtris Specialty Chemicals.
The expansions are expected to be fully completed by the end of the first quarter 2020.

Valtris Specialty Chemicals acquired INEOS ChloroToluenes from INEOS Enterprises in August 2018 and integrated this within the Valtris Specialty Chemicals group asa separate business unit“ Valtris Advanced Organics (“VAO”).With production facilities in US, Belgium and the Netherlands, VAO is a leading producer of chlorinated toluenes and related derivatives that are used in coatings, flavor & fragrance, personal care and pharmaceutical applications.
