Final investment decision for a new butadiene extraction unit in Plock, Poland made by Synthos

Chemical producer Synthos has announced its final investment decision to construct a new Butadiene Extraction Unit in Plock, Poland. Air Liquide Engineering and Construction has been awarded the engineering, procurement, and construction services for the project, with commissioning and production scheduled for 2024. The unit will have a capacity of 120 kt/y and will help safeguard Synthos' strategic feedstock position in the synthetic rubber market. Synthos is involved in the production and sales of chemical products used in various industries, including tires, construction, and packaging.

Synthos is proud to announce the final investment decision for the construction of a new Butadiene Extraction Unit with associated logistic infrastructure to be built in Plock, Poland

Air Liquide Engineering and Construction licenses the BASF NMP Butadiene Extraction technology and has been awarded with the overall engineering, procurement and Construction services and supplies for the project. The commissioning of the Butadiene Extraction Unit and first production are scheduled for 2024.  The Butadiene extraction Unit will have a BD capacity of 120 kt/y.

In view of Synthos’ continuous innovations and expansion, amongst others in the segments Synthetic Rubbers and Latexes, the New Butadiene Unit is a next step to safeguard Synthos’ strategic feedstock position close to its consuming assets in CEE.
