BioMCN to double capacity with €100 million investment
OCI N.V. (Euronext: OCI), BioMCN’s parent company, announced an estimated €100 million investment to refurbish the second methanol production line at BioMCN, located at Chemical Park Delfzijl.
The production facility is currently mothballed, but prospects for methanol markets are attractive and the restart will create approximately 30 new permanent jobs at the site, in addition to several hundred indirect jobs during the refurbishment.
The production line can produce 438,000 tons of methanol per year and will almost double BioMCN’s current production capacity. The plant is expected to start commissioning in the fourth quarter of 2018.
