Total has completed the €200m transformation of its Carling-Saint-Avold petrochemical complex in eastern France. The site has been turned into a leading polymer production site in Europe, with increased polystyrene production capacity and upgraded polyethylene and polypropylene units. The complex also houses the Cray Valley Europe headquarters and R&D centre, and serves as a logistics hub. Total has signed agreements with French authorities to support local stakeholders and improve competitiveness at the site. The transformation did not involve layoffs or compulsory staff transfers, with each employee offered a personalised plan.
