INVISTA is expanding production of its TERRIN polyols to Europe through its facility in Vlissingen, The Netherlands. The polyols contain a minimum of 50% recycled content and can be used in various polyurethane products. INVISTA will showcase its TERRIN polyols, Terate polyols, and TERATHANE glycols at the Urethanes Technology Europe exhibition in April. The company also produces polyols at its facility in Wilmington, North Carolina, for the American markets. INVISTA's polyols portfolio is part of its range of specialty chemicals for the polyurethanes industry.
VLISSINGEN, THE NETHERLANDS - INVISTA is bringing production of its TERRIN™ polyols to Europe via its facility in Vlissingen, The Netherlands. The site produced its first commercial TERRIN™ polyols in late 2014 and completed the requirements for REACH registration in Europe.
“We are excited to offer the European market more direct access to our products,” said Nadine de Vries, vice president of TERRIN™ and Terate® polyols for INVISTA Specialty Materials. “By expanding production of the TERRIN™ family of polyols into Europe and utilizing an existing INVISTA manufacturing facility, we are able to better serve the growing European demand for competitively priced products with sustainable content,” de Vries said.
TERRIN™ aliphatic polyester polyols contain a minimum of 50 percent recycled content—with some containing renewable content, as well. Formulators can use TERRIN™ polyols in lieu of or in combination with conventional polyether or polyester polyols to formulate a variety of polyurethane products.
“We continue to discover new ways customers can use our TERRIN™ polyols,” said de Vries. “We’re currently collaborating with formulators to create value-added, cost-effective high resilience foams, spray coatings, adhesives, elastomeric resins and viscoelastic foams, just to name a few.”
INVISTA will be showcasing TERRIN™ polyols, Terate® polyols and TERATHANE® glycols at the Urethanes Technology Europe exhibition (booth 1530) April 14-16 at the MECC in Maastricht, The Netherlands. Visitors are also invited to attend a technical presentation by INVISTA Technical Fellow, Dr. Richard P. Beatty, on TERRIN™ polyols and their performance in high-resilience foams.
In addition to its site in Vlissingen, INVISTA produces aliphatic (TERRIN™) and aromatic (Terate®) polyols at its U.S. facility in Wilmington, North Carolina, which serves the North and South American markets.
