Investment by BASF at Cork site in Ireland

BASF is expanding its manufacturing plant in Cork, Ireland to meet the increasing demand for its LIX® product range. The LIX® product range is used for extracting copper from oxide ores in difficult operating conditions. The expansion will allow BASF to supply its customers with high-quality products and on-site service. In addition, BASF has established new technical laboratories in South Africa, China, and Russia to enhance technical service and be closer to its customers.

BASF is expanding the manufacturing plant for its LIX® product range at its Cork site, Ireland. An investment is underway with production scheduled by end of the first quarter of 2015.

The LIX® product range of Solvent Extractants is used for hydrometallurgical extraction of copper from oxide ores. BASF has a broad range of reagents and provides optimized solutions, particularly for mines experiencing difficult operating conditions.

Recently the Regional Business Management Mining Solutions has established new technical laboratories in Johannesburg, South Africa, Shanghai, China and Moscow, Russia to be closer to the customers and enhance technical service.
