Styron had approximately USD 6 billion in revenue in 2011, with 20 manufacturing sites around the world, and 2100 employees.Major divisions include SB Latex (styrene-butadiene latex) and Synthetic Rubber, which together form the Emulsion Polymers unit, and Styrenics (polystyrene) and Engineered Polymers, which together form Plastics. With more than 35 production plants in nearly 20 countries, Trinseo does a little more than half its business in Europe and the Middle East. On the product side, Plastics make up the majority of sales. The company filed to go public in mid-2011.
